About
James Beck is a freelance editorial/documentary photographer and filmmaker based in Bristol in the south west of England. NGO, editorial and commercial clients include;
The New York Times / National Trust / Channel 4 / FT Weekend / The Guardian / BBC / De Morgen / VICE / Telegraph Magazine / Bloomberg / Oxfam / Telerama / De Standaard / Monopol Magazine / New Statesman / Channel 5 / LinkedIn / Santander
He holds a Bachelor of the Arts degree in Photojournalism at the University of Gloucestershire and is an alumnus of the Eddie Adams Workshop in New York. Although he wilfully, belligerently dismisses much of the modern world, he does hold a full drone licence, being in the privileged position of working with the National Trust and getting to document much of the UK, often from an aerial perspective. He enjoys the wizzie wizzie woo of flying the thing.
Prodigiously talented, universally well liked and yet remarkably humble, James is available for commissions when not writing his own biography in the third person. He tries hard not to be as smug as his profile picture would have you believe. Zany.
